Overview

Michael Kosko is an elementary the assistant principal at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary in Chicago Public Schools. Prior to the role, he was a STEM Initiatives Manager for the district and taught high school science for ten years in Chicago.  


He is a vocal advocate for blended learning and using design thinking in the classroom, and was second runner up in the 2016 Escalante-Gradillas Prize for Best in Education. He presents at various education technology conferences and founded One STEM Chicago, an opportunity to connect educators and encourage interest in STEM among Chicago students. His ultimate goals are to improve education outcomes for all Chicago students through encouraging interest in STEM and exposing them to a range of possible educational and career opportunities.
