Overview
RSU 21 is a rural school district located on the southern coast of Maine serving students from Arundel, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport. RSU 21 consists of one high school (grades 9-12), one middle school (grades 6-8), and four elementary schools (grades PreK-5).
In April of 2011, RSU 21 began the transition to G Suite for all communication and productivity needs. The transition was accompanied by several professional development opportunities lead by the RSU 21 IT Department. Early professional development opportunities focused on the use of Gmail for daily communications and workflow. Subsequent opportunities professional development focused on the use of additional G Suite tools such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Sites. By June of that year, all RSU 21 users were successfully migrated away from using previous email client systems. Since that time, RSU 21 has fully embraced G Suite and all that is had to offer. This has significantly impacted our learning environment as all students in grades 1-12 have access to an G Suite account and a Chromebook for classroom and home use (grades 7-12). G Suite has become the way RSU 21 works.
